Do you ever tell other people that your cat can kick their kitten's ass (cuteness wise)? Well, this site is for you. Submit a photo of your kitten and others can rate the cute-nesity level of your kitten vs theirs.

If you don't want to upload a photo, feel free to browse and vote through the kitten photos.

There are two ways to add a kitten. The easiest way is to use the Anonymous Kitten Uploader. Using this feature you can upload your photo, but there is no easy way to track it.

The second way is to register an accout and add the photo via the New Contestant button. For the account, I don't verify anything, but it would be nice if you put your real email address incase you forget your password.

All photos go through an approval process

I'm a sole programmer, who decided to make this site on my spare time. 90% of this site was actually written over the last 2 months while I was commuting to work. As all of my sites the main reason I wrote this was for my sheer entertainment.

Not from this site of course. Even the relatively high traffic site AskTaco.com has never made me a cent. I don't do this for the money, I do it for the chicks

Well, yes and no. The idea of this site came from Kitten War. They did a great job, though I thought this would make a good project to work on in my spare time. I also expanded on KittenWar, as I am adding many other features, so you can actually challenge another kitten to a duel.

I use PHP5 and MySQL 5. I am a partner a small (very small) hosting company, so I had a couple of servers. KFO is configured to use MySQL master/slave. I also use; CentOS on the servers, ImageMagick for all the image resizing, Smarty for templating, JSOLait for the JSON-RPC/AJAX stuff, Memcached for cache/sessions, LVM for the load balancer, and Scriptaculus for random effects.

I decided to release this site in phases. Right now I'm up to phase one, two should be pretty nice. Believe me, updating will be slow since I have so many other projects

I know some people will do this, I suggest you don't. You're not going to win anything, so there's no point.
